Best fresh authentic Mexican north of the beltway. Blows all competition out of the water.

Really tasty food! We had tacos, chips and guacamole, jamaica and horchata. I had a fish, shrimp and chicken and bacon taco and my husband had a marinated pork, steak and chicken and bacon taco. We finished with the delish homemade flan. The taco meat had great flavoring and the salsas and guac and chips were excellent. My only gripe is that the tacos weren't fried so they fell apart really easily making it a messy meal. The excellent, friendly service and great flavors make me excited to come back and try other food on the menu.

We stopped at this place on our way through the area based on the positive yelp/google reviews. This is a great hole in the wall restaurant and great for a quick bite when in the area. The restaurant is small and casual with "fast-food" style tables. Food is served on disposable dishes. The employees are very friendly and the food was served quickly. The food had the quality and taste of a nicer restaurant. We had the steak quesadillas and fish tacos, and both were outstanding. One down side was no fountain drinks, so no refills on bottled beverages. It is a little pricey (entrees range from $9-13ish) for the lack of atmosphere and plastic seating, however I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a casual and quiet place to get some delicious food. The portions were appropriate, however one recommendation I have for the owners is to offer complimentary chips/salsa while waiting for food to be served as many Mexican restaurants do. This would be a better value for the cost for the customer and potentially draw in more customers / repeat customers.

I love food and therefore trying new places always wanting to find a tasty new eatery. I found this place via a Living Social deal, and am very excited about it. Food, service and cleanliness are my main concerns when eating out, and this place succeeded on all fronts. The service was exceedingly pleasant, food came out both quickly and fresh. The chips had literally just been made and went so well with their guacamole, which was some of the best I have ever tasted-which is why my friend and I ordered a second helping of it. The horchata was yummy, as were the tacos I had as my entree. I had beef, chicken and the marinated pork tacos and all were very tasty. My friend ordered the shrimp tacos and really loved them. All in all, I will be returning to this restaurant.

Little gem. Wife and I had lunch here on a whim. The guy in here was very nice and attentive. Ordered guacamole, it was fresh and on point! We ordered the specials, chicken quesadillas, they were great. Rice, not so much, pretty sure that was microwaved. All in all- it was a good experience, tasty food, good service and will definitely return if we are in the area again. Thumbs up.

Had tacos and soup today. Tacos were outstanding. The meats were all delicious but the chicken with bacon was the stand out. The soup was very hearty with lots of beans. I would have liked it more spicey but overall very good. Will definitely be back.

I had to come and see it for myself. I have talked to at least 5 people who say this place is the real deal. If you want real Mexican food this is the place to go. I started off with the chips and guacamole which my friend had suggested and it was actually good they put enough spice in it to be a little picante but not where you needed a drink after every bite. We had come on a Tuesday where they had a deal on tacos. $2.00 a taco and you could make them combo if you wanted. I ended up getting 3 the carne asada , chorizo and the chicken . Each one was good I had the side of the Mexican corn on the cob it was so good and well seasoned that I ordered one to take home with me. I haven't been able to find a decent horchatta drink that I actually liked but I decided to give it another try with this place because they haven't let me down yet. I now have found it!!! I was cold and refreshing I had finally had my horchatta fix. My girlfriend ended up having the quesadillas and she said they were amazing. The only downfall about this place was the language barrier but it didn't bother me. They understood the menu to par. If you drove by this restaurant it wouldn't jump out at you but that's when the saying "Don't Judge a book by its cover "comes into play. I love the Mexican culture and everyone was right this place was the real deal and I will definitely be coming back very soon.

My new favorite place in white marsh (up there with Arigato and Mission). The waiter was really friendly, like really seemed to GAF whether we liked our food, which is rare. We started with the guacamole. Very fresh and flavorful. My husband was not thrilled that it had tomatoes in it, but he's a moron who doesn't like tomatoes (this review was written in August; they are in season!). I ordered the three tacos, shrimp, chicken, and marinated pork. They are huge. Lots of fresh toppings and big potions of meat. And these people know how to grill meat. The shrimp is usually over cooked in Mexican restaurants; not so here! Very juicy. The marinated pork was out of this world (sorry, did not have room for the chicken). I believe the three tacos are under ten dollars. Also, they deliver through eat 24, so, if you end up at Taco Bell, it's your own damn fault!

The food and wait staff was awesome. I met a friend there on Taco Tuesday. I ordered soft shell beef, fish and shrimp. The flavors were excellent! Will definitely go back

Good food for good prices. The daily specials are for the win... Tacos on Tuesday (2.50 each), quesadillas on Wednesday day (7.00), and burritos on Thursday. The food is good, the salsa is just spicy enough to burn your tongue but be good. The service is very friendly and quick. All-in-all, I would recommend this to somebody, for sure. The only drawback is no delivery, but it's a pretty easy to get to location, depending on where you are coming from.

Regardless of how not hungry you think you are, if you stop here I guarantee you will feel the Taco Love! Crispy chips, a salsa sampler and a delicious glass of cinnamon-spiked horchata -- yes, please. Spicy beef and tender fish tacos, so stuffed with toppings the shells would barely close: lettuce, cheese, crema, pico, cilantro and more salsa, with fluffy rice and plump pintos on the side? Uh-huh. Try the tortilla soup, which is out of this world: savory chicken broth with fresh avocado and rich crema. Then end with a perfect flan, smooth and creamy with a little burned-sugar kick at the back end. The interior is tiny, bright and clean with vibrant colors everywhere, and our server was an absolute gem -- friendly, professional and helpful. They are a BYOB establishment, and next time we come back we will definitely bring some cold cervezas to enjoy with our tacos -- although the rest of the menu looked pretty tempting too. Can't wait to return!

Wow. If you're doing the DC to NY drive and looking for some great food that's not at a rest area, this is the place. About 10 min from the highway. Had the tacos. All awesome. The salsa rocks. Our family also had the fajita quesadilla, lentil soup and some fried plantains. All good. But tacos are the best. The pescada taco was amazing.

Small, off the beaten path joint, but oh so delicious Mexican food. I'm in awe that the have tortas on the menu. Those yummy sandwiches are hard to find. I highly recommend the carne asada fries, anything with chorizo, and the tres leches. Check out their website for daily specials like TACO TUESDAY!

I was there yesterday with my husband and everything was great from the service, to the food, to the atmosphere. I got the tostadas and they were piled high with chicken, cheese, tomatoes, avocado. Very generous portions. The guacamole was phenomenal as well! Our server was so nice and made us feel like we were family! We will definitely be back!

We were super excited to try this place because of all the great reviews about this "hidden gem." Upon coming in, we weren't greeted with hello or any waters, just took a seat. When the waitress came over, she cleaned the dirty table, and handed us menus, still no water. We finally had the opportunity to order. Food and water. I got fajitas, but that didn't come with cheese or sour cream, American staples to fajitas in my book. So I ordered it extra- a bit of steep price for fajitas for 15.99 compared to other Mexican places I've been. Hubby ordered a shrimp burrito. It took a long time to get our food, and once it came, it was decent. My fajitas were okay. The flavor in the chicken (lots of small pieces) and lots and lots of veggies was good, grilled and seasoned well. They brought me three mini sized tortillas for all that stuffing.... And that didn't cut it. Then, they charged extra for two more tortillas. Eh. Hubs shrimp burrito had great flavor, but the shrimp in the shrimp burrito were not there enough. The yum yum sauce or whatever on it made up for it, but not an excuse. And it was pretty small. Pretty good flavors here, but kind of skimpy on meat overall. Then I found little pieces of things floating in my water, and I was disgusted. We won't be returning anytime soon. I'm disappointed because of all of the great reviews.

  • Jared M.

Be wary of some of the other reviews. I read plenty of glowing reviews before heading to Taco Love, in the mood for some truly delicious Enchiladas. Unfortunately, I was charged $14 for TWO of the most underwhelming enchiladas I have ever tasted. They were made with something closer to pita or flatbread than tortillas, the meat was not very good, nor was the cheese melted or the salsa very pleasant, and my entree was served with extremely under-cooked black beans that were still somewhat hard. I truly hate to write a bad review, especially since the service was attentive and accommodating, but I came away extremely disappointed by my visit. Even if my dinner had been excellent, it was over-priced at $14, and it was far from excellent. Skip this one and head to Don Pablo's instead, which is (sadly) a far better value for your money.

Very impressed. We first ate here about 2 weeks ago and have been back 3 times since then! My husband said everything tasted the same as when he was in Mexico City. Our favorites are the pastor taco, the shrimp taco, the chips and guacamole, and the dessert nachos. It's great to have a new favorite spot so close to home.

    (5)
  • Eric E.

They're tacos are great especially the "Pastor" (marinated pork w/ pineapple). I recommend because they have good food and its a local business.

I've been there two times now. The first time I ordered there nachos and was very impressed even though I was forced to try it. The nachos were great and very nice presentation. So I had to go back, the nachos were still really good but looked a total mess and hard to eat unlike my first visit. I had ask for steak nachos and received something that looked like cheese steak sub meat.. So I asked the waiter about it and he said it all depends on who is working at the time. Customers expect consistency

This place really does it right! I took my 4 year old son here for his birthday. He loves tacos. Anyway, we ended up ordering a child's burrito (large enough for an adult to be honest) and I had a taco salad. Holy cow this place was great!!! My son kept thanking me the entire meal for bringing him there. When the waitress came over to check on us my son said he wanted to thank everyone for his yummy taco. The waitress took time out of her day to walk him to the back so he could thank the chef. Shortly after the cook walked out with brown sugar tacos for my child. He talked about it all day!!! He kept saying "remember the boy who gave me the snack? Let's go again". It was a delightful experience! On a different note I do think they are a tiny bit overpriced. Chips and guacamole cost $6.99. But the food is amazing and it's a treasure! We WILL definitely be back!

After reading great reviews and having several close friends recommend TLG, we arrived last (Tuesday) and found that we weren't the only people that decided to stop in. We found a booth and we're waited on by a wonderful lady. The service was great and the food was even better. My wife had the chicken chimichanga with green enchilada sauce (a special request), while my daughter had a steak burrito. I had tacos...pork, chicken and chorizo. All of the food was delicious. We left very happy and plan to return soon.

First time caller, long time listener. So Taco Bell has ruined me for patronizing any restaurant with the name Taco in it but my good friends insist on this place. So they invite me and I got the Shrimpotle Burrito. Loaded with shrimp, guacamole, pico and yum yum sauce. It was delicious! Others got the tacos and chimichangas and now I see why the word love is in the name of this neighborhood food spot. This place will not make you run for the border or toilet but you can BYOB.

  • Joey D.

Incredible food, incredible service. My wife and I shared the carnitas asada fries which are a must here. She ordered enchiladas and I got 3 tacos. One with chicken, one steak and 1 carnita asada. The steak was by far the best but all were amazing. Will definitely be back soon. We love R&R as well but this will be added to our rotation. Give this place a try. Price was a little expensive though. For an app and two meals you are looking at an easy $30-$40.

  • Susie R.

Their tacos are quite good. A little pricy, but they really pile on the meat. Something did does smell a little weird both times, maybe the cilantro was getting old? The empanadas are also delicious; it seemed a little weird to me to put raisins in them, but it's surprisingly fitting! Guacamole and chips are great too, as expected. One point off was for the weird taco smell, and messing up my order several times.

This place is awesome!!! I had the fried taco and my husband had the three tacos. We were in heaven and cleaned both of our plates! We will be back for sure! It's BYOB too which is fun. Simple and cute atmosphere. They were busy when we got there at 7:30pm but we got a booth right away. If you live in the middle river/ white marsh area you have to visit Taco Love!

Taco Love Grill is that hidden little gem in the White Marsh area that you would pass by if you didn't know that it was there. With authentic Mexican food and drinks, Taco Love Grill is definitely making quite a name for themselves. This time around we chose the carne asada fries, fried tacos, and the chimichanga. Everything was fried deliciousness! The carne asada fries topped with guacamole and cheese was quite yummy, they just needed a touch more salt, but overall great. The star item for me was the fried tacos. I chose a carna asada taco and a chicken and bacon taco; between the two I don't know which was better, I just know I wanted to keep eating because they tasted that good. There is a bit of pineapple in the carne asada that gives the meat a nice flavor complex, and you can never go wrong with bacon. Taco Love Grill is a must try if you are looking for good authentic mexican food with great customer service.

I love this place! It's authentic, CLEAN, and sooo delicious! I love that you can get mix and match tacos, and I highly recommend the soft corn tortillas. Holy crap they are amazing. For dessert, try the tres leches cake. Auntie makes it homemade! Added bonus - BYOB!

The tacos here are fantastic, especially on Taco Tuesdays where they are only $2 each. The meat they use is extremely high quality with a freshness that you don't get at any ol' mexican place. Their homemade red salsa is also delicious and surprisingly spicy, just the way I like it! Another big plus is that you can easily place your order online. The only downside is that it's a pretty small establishment with not a lot of room to stand around when waiting to get your order prepared.

Ugh. I hate being part of the minority that didn't love this place. Part of our issue was probably the language barrier with the employee who was working at the time. i was trying to order a fajita quesadilla, which I assumed was a quesadilla with a choice of meat and fajita veggies. Unfortunately saying this was just causing confusion and after several attempts to be clear, I just ordered a chicken quesadilla. My fiance somehow hates sour cream, so he asked for all burrito toppings except sour cream. His burrito came with a giant wad of sour cream in the middle. Neither of us are big on sending food back unless something is dreadfully wrong, so, he just ate around it as best as he could. My quesadilla was really good, and everything tasted really fresh, but halfway through it it was a little overwhelming with just the cheese and chicken. Thankfully, the guacamole that came with it helped, and was really good, and the corn salsa they brought out with our meal was sooo good, I ate almost the entire thing. When we were paying at the end, a woman had just gotten to work (I think one of the owners) and I don't think we would have had the same ordering issue had she been there, so, I'd definitely like to come back and give a few other menu items a try.

We chose to sit in and eat. It was a place at the back of the strip mall off of Philadelphia Rd. We ordered quesadillas for the kids. The adults had fresh tacos and enchilada verde. It was worth the trip. They made it fresh to order, the ingredients were fresh and they provided generous portions. The kids enjoyed their quesAdillas with a side or rice and beans. If your looking for over-seasoned, salty food- thankfully you won't find it here! Our meal costs under $45 for a family of 5. Next time, I hope to save room for desert!

Great Mexican food and service. I had the steak tacos with onion and cilantro and it was tasty. Husband has steak fajitas which he also enjoyed. I also loved that they brought a variety of salsa to the table and a good quantity too. I typically eat taco with my salsa so this was a pleasant surprise. Chips were just okay. Horchata was great. Price was a bit high but that is what happens where there isn't a big market. Overall great and we will be coming back.

After reading all of the amazing reviews, this was one place I had to go check out for myself. I'd say it lived up to the hype because I had the absolute best experience there! The customer service was excellent from the moment we walked in, quickly being seated and provided drinks. The food was amazing, too. I ordered a shrimpotle which was a little spicy for me personally, but it was still really good. My family got a taco salad, and some quesadillas. You know it was good if my picky 8 year old brother enjoyed it. Stop by the place, you won't regret it! :)

So delicious!!! Don't be fooled by the strip mall location. It is absolutely worth the trip! They have Mexican coke (alone worth the trip!) and some seriously delicious food. The tacos are great - I would try the carne asada or the chicken. The carne asada fries are the most amazing thing on the menu!!! French fries topped with cheese, carne asada and guacamole!!! Delicious!!! The beans and rice are great as well. I cannot say enough good things about Taco Love. The staff is so friendly and the food is really great. Go here!

Food was amazing! Very small inside but great service and delicious food. We got the steak tacos & shrimpotle burrito- both very good! Dishes come with sides of red, green, and corn salsa- all delish! Would definitely recommend and visit again

First of all, run, don't walk to this place! I love trying our small, random restaurants. I find the fewwer tables, the better. This place has about 6-7 tables and seems to do a brisk carryout business. The horchata was the best i've had in recent memory and at $2 including free refills, is a great deal.My husband's tacos were moist, falvorful and delicious and I had a dish I've never tried before and can't remember the name. It was basically a hash of chicken, pepers and onions, all held together by cheese, served with rice and beans. They make their own totrtillas, you get a choice of flour or corn. I really can't say enough about this restaurant and have already planned another trip there with friends in two weeks. It appears to be family owned and they seem genuinely happy to serve you. Although it's small, they have a menu online, take credit cards and also have online ordering. They will make you feel good about supporting a local business!

I stopped here today for lunch today after my run and had a chance to speak with the better half of the owner couple. The female owner is from Mexico City and we chatted while I waited on my order of tacos (Chicken & Bacon, Chorizo, Marinated pork) with extra cilantro. Let me reiterate, nothing is pre-made, everything is cooked fresh and to order. OMG these were so good. The food is authentic, fresh, and very very Yummy!!! My only regret is that they do not have a liquor license...because a pitcher of Margaritas on the rocks would be an awesome complement to their food!!! New: They now offer free delivery service within 3 or 4 miles of the business ($15 minimum order, which is fair considering the cost of gas and food).

This place is very good! The chicken tacos are amazing. The ingredients are so fresh, and the different salsas they have complete the meal.

Yum! That's all I can say about this place. The decor and atmosphere is a little bit dated think plastic booths and tables. the food is amazing! The mole enchiladas is a chocolate based sauce and there were a lot of flavors working together. It's like no other enchilada I've had. We also got the chips and guacamole. It was fresh and has onions, tomatoes and cilantro inside. The chips looked like they were freshly made when we ordered! The bathroom was clean too! A big plus!! We weren't expecting much from a strip mall taco place but this place was a nice surprise.

I wasn't blown away by this place which surprised me considering the great reviews. It wasn't bad but nothing great compelling me to come back right away. The service was good and fast and you can tell the food is fresh but I thought it was a little bland. I'll give it another shot before I completely write them off.

Go on Taco Tuesday, sample a few different kinds of taco's (the chorizo's are terrific) and be happy. Great little place with typical mexican fare.

So refreshing to see something other then El Saltos or Taco Bell or chippoltle! I would call this more modern then most bit at the same time sticking to wonderful tradition. The good is amazing and the service is great. I have been 4x 1time dined in, every time I was pleased. I have gotten the 3tacos w different meats. The taco salad and also the rolled up tacos that were fried w chicken and toppings,(I forget the name) they were amazing. The limes and corn salsa really accentuate the taste and add a lot of flavor to the dishes. Love this place 5stars keep up the great work. !!!

Authentic Mexican food, great service, and a convenient location. I had the mole enchiladas which is one of my favorite Mexican dishes and it was the best mole I've ever had. My friend got the fajitas and she said the same thing....they were the best. My kids got the tacos and loved them. The salsa was spicy and delicious. The only downside is that the restaurant is small with limited seating. We got there around 5 pm and were the only people there, but within about 20 minutes the place was packed. We loved it and will definitely be going back.

This place is great. It's become one of our staple carryout spots. I've been going here for over a year and I've only had the tacos. I typically like to try not to get stuck on one thing,I like more of a variety, but the tacos are that good. My favorite by far are the pork chop and bacon. We've become semi-regulars for "taco Tuesday's."

We love this place for takeout and delivery. Everything is consistently good and they package things up nicely and include plenty of salsas. The steak has especially great grilled flavor. Very friendly and efficient order takers and the delivery person always arrives with a smile. If you eat at their facility, it's not the greatest ambiance (in a strip mall), but they have a TV on the wall. They usually have daily specials that often include items not normally on the menu.

I had the steak and onions to try something different, but still wanted tacos. I forgot how much the put into their tacos. I barely touched my main plate. Delicious! The steak and onion was delicious, too, but I was just too stuffed. They have two of my favorite drinks: horchata and tamarindo.

This place is great, a good authentic Mexican place. It is almost a hidden gem, literally. It sits in a shopping center and isn't very visible from the main road. I hope this review gives them some business. With that said, it isn't crowded, again, because no one knows it is here. I have been there for lunch a few times and it has been really good each visit. I always get the taco special. You can get 2 or 3 tacos, there are eight to choose from, and a small bowl of soup. I get the 3 taco special, it is $8.75. The tacos, handgrafted pieces of art. Choose corn or flour tortilla, then your meat. I like the chicken and bacon, marinated pork and chorizo tacos the best. They are dressed with cilantro and onion. The soups are great too, they have four to choose from. I choose the tortilla soup one time and the frijolitos charros soup the most recent. The place is very clean and they are friendly and flexible if you want to alter your meal. Our group of four was treated to free chips and salsa one time!! Good green salsa! They have a good Facebook page that includes photos and the menu, check it out.

Decent tacos, somewhat cheap and quick. Tried the steak, fish, chicken and bacon, and pastor tacos. on the positive side, they give you a lot of toppings on each taco, and they have a lot of pico and salsa for the table. BUT the taco meats (all of them) were very under seasoned! bleh. Beans were straight out of a can and not seasoned. Rice had a good flavor but was very mushy. If you're looking for a good taco place in the Whitemarsh area I would recommend R&R Taqeria instead.

We just went here for the first time. Up until now, we hadn't been able to find any good Mexican food near Baltimore. This place is as good as it gets. We started with chips and guacamole, which was fresh and cilantro-y and great. Then I got the tortilla soup, which was full of spicy, tangy perfection (the tortilla strips were still crunchy and the avocado was so fresh). My boyfriend got the frijolitos charros soup, which he liked and I loved (he ended up loving my tortilla soup, for good reason). Then, TACOS! Marinated pork, chicken and bacon, and chorizo for me. The chorizo taco was out of this world. Seriously. I might just want three of those next time. The chorizo was crispy and the salsas they put out on the table were all great. Boyfriend got marinated pork, pork and bacon, and fish tacos, which he liked as well. Dessert was the sweet tortilla, which ended up being like tortilla chip churros with a raspberry dipping sauce. I died and went to heaven. Run, do not walk, here. It's a bit out of the way, but SO worth it. I am already planning when we will return.

My husband and I came here for my birthday in November. It's a really tiny place with (maybe) 10 tables so a lot of people seem to do takeout. We ordered EVERY taco on the menu and LOVED THEM! It's obvious they use all fresh ingredients and make everything right there. They also offer 3 types of salsa with every meal. The service is very friendly and prompt - I just wish the place was bigger!!!

The crispy fish tacos are The Awesome. I've had fish tacos in CA, FL, and AZ and none of them beat this place. I can't even bring myself to try anything else on the menu I love them so much.

Delicious, fresh tacos at a reasonable price. I tried this restaurant specifically because of Yelp and Mark P.'s review. I had exactly what he had -- chicken and bacon, marinated pork, and chorizo tacos, making up the 3-taco meal. The food was fantastic, with quick and friendly service. Everything was made to order. They also have delicious, fresh pico de gallo, mild, and hot sauces. The restaurant has 3 or 4 tables, some seating in front of the window, and is well-decorated. I will definitely be back; a great find. Possibly now my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area.

Amazeball! This place is so delicious! You also can't beat $2 taco night. The steak, marinated pork and fish tacos are my favorite. I love the complimentary trio of red, verde and corn salsa provided for each table. I keep going back because it really is that damned good! Super inexpensive and so so fresh.

The food was really good, but the service was horrible! Jeez, i hope they get some help for the crowds on friday nights, because after my experience i will not be going back. It took over a hour for us to get our food, and they only have 1 highchair for the entire place! ....really just 1 highchair!????!?!?! Its a shame because the food really was good. But i can find good food with better service else where....Oh and its BYOB...

What a great little find tucked away in upper White Marsh. The spot is adorable, parking is ample, extremely clean and the people that worked there are really sweet, accommodating and helpful. I had the chicken, steak and pork with chicken soft tacos with all the fixins---AMAZING!!! though I don't live in the area anymore, I will definitely seek this place out when I am visiting.

I am very happy that I purchased the Living Social for Taco Love Grill! The restaurant is located in a very small shopping center on Philadelphia Road, and has very few tables. We arrived close to 5p, so we were able to get a table, there was a bit of a wait for those that came in after. We ordered nachos followed by crispy tacos and fajita quesadillas. I really enjoyed that they served a salsa caddy with three options with the entrees; mild, verde, and corn salsa. The server was friendly and fast, and the food was hot and fresh. It certainly surpassed my expectations based on the location! We will definitely go back! I would love to try the guacamole.

Three of us visited Taco Love in serious starvation mode, so we ordered half the menu. Everything was really fresh and beautifully presented. Among my favorites were the chilaquiles, pork tacos with pineapple bits, empanadas, and the fried tortilla dessert ( not on the menu, so ask for it). This place is the best Mexican I may have ever had. I will return to try the two or three things we didn't order.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
